Tin can flowers, madonnas, painted light bulbs, jelly beans and fruit loops glued into shells, corks and bottles and pairs of shoes all interweave in tableaux in Gus’s world in the back garden, beneath a towering pine tree with a ladder of watering cans and empty birdcages..  Common, sometimes discarded, objects are recycled to find welcome and appreciation in the shrines Gus creates, where toys and trinkets commune with saints…as bells and lanterns swing overhead, and birds fly free. .
