Cita has lived in Tucson, Az. for almost 30 years. The colors and light of the Southwest infuse her work, which celebrates nature through still life,
landscapes and gardenscapes in acrylic, collage and photography.
Born in California, Cita grew up on the east coast and traveled extensively, particularly in Europe where she studied at La Academia de Bellas
Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and La Sorbonne in Paris. A major in studio art and art history, she received her BA from Sarah Lawrence
College in N. Y. She was an assistant painting instructor for the University of Michigan’s Semester Abroad art program in Lacoste, France and
spent several summers painting near Barcelona. Before painting full time, she was assistant director of The Pyramid Galleries Ltd. in Washington,
D. C. and manager of The Max Hutchinson Gallery in New York.
Cita has had museum exhibits at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC and The North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, N.C..as well as numerous group and solo exhibits in Washington, DC, North Carolina., Arizona, California and New York. Her work is represented in museum and corporate collections, as well as private collections throughout the country. In Tucson, she has exhibited through The Etherton Gallery at The Temple of Music and Art, The Jewish Community Center, Northern Trust Bank, and the Az Sonora Desert Museum, and most recently at The Bernal Gallery at Pima College and the Tucson International Airport. Her work in Tucson can be seen publicly in the collections of the Northern Trust Bank, The Az Sonora Desert Museum, and the Tucson Medical Center where she has over 40 pieces in its Healing Arts Program.
